Matt and Joby are delighted to invite you to our wonderful wedding celebration! We’re both incredibly excited to party with you all, so here’s all the info you’ll need about the special day!

2:30 – 3:30 pm – Guests Arrive

Guests are welcome to arrive in East Harling, glass of bubbly on arrival!

We’ll be serving Argentinian style grilled meat and veggies for everyone

7:30 pm – Speeches

8:00 – 10:00 pm – Ceilidh dancing

Get those feet moving and strip that willow!

9:00 – 11:00 pm – Bao buns and hot drinks

A food truck and a coffee cart for all your late night needs

10:00 pm – More dancing

10:00 pm – Midnight – Taxi service

Taxis available for those who are heading back to Diss and Thetford

  • Diss (20 min taxi to venue) – from London Liverpool Street
  • Thetford or Attleborough (15 min taxi to venue) – from London Kings Cross via Cambridge

Parking

East Harling is a small village so it might be risky to plan on parking there on the day if you’re driving to see us! There is on-street parking in the village, but where possible we’d request people park in the town they’re staying and get taxis to the wedding.

We’ll be providing taxis for the end of the night to get people back to Thetford / Diss.

Hotels

East Harling is a small village, but the nearby town of Thetford has some hotel and B&B options, including some larger chains:

Travelodge Thetford

If these are full you could also look in some of the other nearby towns and villages (such as Diss, Attleborough and Garboldisham)

While it’s traditional to get newlyweds gifts for their new future together, we have already been living together for a few years and don’t have much room for extra appliances in our flat!

The most important gift you can give is being there to party with us on our Big Day. If you really want to give anything extra we’d suggest either:

  • Donating money to your chosen charity. If you’re stuck for ideas, we’d suggest the Albert Kennedy Trust (https://www.akt.org.uk/), who provide support for homeless LGBT+ young people.

What is the deadline for sending an RSVP?

Please send your RSVP before the end of March

Are children & babies welcome?

Entirely up to you! If you have kids that you want to bring on the day to party we would be more than happy to see them. Equally, if the parents want a night off then we won’t be heartbroken.

Can I bring a +1?

Please only come to the wedding if you are named on the invitation – no +1s please.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

The day is planned to be entirely outdoors, with a marquee for the evening party.

What should I wear?

There is no fixed dress-code, but be warned Matt and Joby will be resplendent in colourful suits and covered in flowers!

The wedding will be in October and will mostly be outside (under cover) so make sure you dress appropriately. Also remember there will be plenty of dancing (ceilidh and otherwise!) so bring shoes you can comfortably boogie in.

What will we be eating?

Main dinner will include a buffet-style selection of meat and veg prepared on the day and cooked on an Argentine-style grill!

Bao buns will be provided in the evening to satisfy your post-ceilidh munchies

As the day’s celebrations don’t start til 4:00pm please make sure you get lunch before you arrive!

Will you be serving alcohol?

There will be a free bar set up to provide drinks such as beer, cider and wine, and there will be a cart in the evening selling hot drinks including mulled wines. If you want to bring anything specific for yourself please feel free!

I have dietary requirements, will there be food I can eat?

Let us know your requirements on the RSVP and we’ll ensure there is something delicious for you.

 Can I take photos during the day?

We have hired a professional photographer for the day but if you want to take your own photos as well you are more than welcome to. We’ll setup some kind of Google Drive for people to share their photos and videos after the party.
